Day 12

From: Shureice
Date: July 12, 2000
Subject: Cleaning the Métis House

Today I stayed behind at the Museum and got to see how huge the Museum really is.

Maggie (a girl I knew from the year before) and I helped Corlene with odd jobs around the Métis (pronounced Meytee) House and tried to clean up the dead bugs from upstairs. We also tried to stop the Métis House from smelling so weird. We sprayed out a whole can of Lysol and the funk remains to this day.

The Métis House was neat. We aired out the 81-year-old quilt, and did our best to tidy this place up. The Métis family were said to be very skilled at wagon making, and hunting. The house was quite elegant for that time.

This, at the end was one of the hardest days, and also one of the most exiting. Marco's mom called and says she wants to take me out on my lunch break tomorrow. I will also be back in the field, too. I can't wait.
