AN ORDINANCE, To regulate the sale of second-hand automobile accessories, parts of automobiles and automobile accessories.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:

Section 1. No persons, firm or corporation shall, within the City of Chicago, engage in the business of buying or selling second-hand automobiles, parts of automobiles, or automobile accessories, without first having obtained a permit from the City Collector of said city so to do.

Section 2. The City Collector of said City shall issue to any person, firm or corporation a permit as provided for in the preceding section for the period of one year, upon payment to the City of Chicago of the sum of $1.00; provided, however, that said permit shall expire on the 31st day of May of the year in which it is issued.

Section 3. Every person, firm of corporation engaged in the business of buying of selling second-hand automobiles, part of automobiles or automobile accessories shall make a daily report to the Chief of Police of the City of Chicago of any and all second-hand automobiles, parts of automobiles or automobile accessories which are bought during said day, or of which said dealer shall obtain possession. Said report shall contain full and complete description of any second-hand automobile, automobiles, parts of automobiles or accessories thereof, together with the factory or engine number, the frame or chasis number, color, type and model, and other marks of identification, and a description of the person from whom said automobile or automobiles, parts, of automobiles, or automobile accessories are bought, including his full name and place of residence.
