Walking
time: about 2 hours.
The Loop
tour, which begins at the south end of the Michigan Avenue Bridge, is
the only walking tour in our book. The reason for this is simple, it is
difficult to drive the Loop and look at its sights. Use this guide to
look around and get acquainted with a part of Chicago which continues
to be vital and whose history is the history of the city itself. While
architects and building styles will be pointed out, this walk around Chicago's
central business district deals, for the most part, with function: the
role that various parts of the Loop played in the life of the city.
