Illustration of Fair Grounds
Thalia Hall, built in 1892 at 1807 S. Allport, was an important center of Bohemian community life. Constructed at a cost of $145,000 and designed by Faber & Pagels, the building symbolized reinvestment in the neighborhood. [J. Fiener]
