Benito Juarez High School, 2150 S. Laflin, 1985. This school has been the pride of the Lower West Side's Mexican-American community since its opening in 1977. In 1985, ground was broken at 1805 S. Loomis for a new public library which will include 6,000 Spanish-language books donated by the Mexican government. [J. Fiener]
