- Subscribe to the listserv with your CPS email address. This will allow us
to safeguard the membership to only include CPS librarians, will facilitate
ongoing membership, and will assist in list administration. If you need
assistance in accessing or using your CPS email account, please call the OTS
Help Desk at 773-553-EXCL. If you need training on the use of your CPS email
account, please check the Office of eLearning training calendar for upcoming
training sessions.
- This is a moderated list. There may be short delay between the time you
post your message and it is forwarded to the list. This is to protect your
inbox from auto-replies, spam, and other unwanted postings.
- This list is to discuss topics specifically related to school librarianship.
Postings should only refer to these topics.
- Subject Line – In the subject line of your email, clearly include the topic
and the intended grade levels. (HS=High School, MS= Middle School, ES= Elem
School, ALL= for all) For example, a high school subject line might read
“HS-Teen Read Week Ideas”. For questions to all members, for example the
subject might read “All – Library Card Campaign Strategies”. To communicate
about an area-specific event, include that area’s number in the subject line.
(For example, Area 15 – Conference Update) By following this rule, members can
choose to delete emails of non-interest.
- Flames – Postings should be productive. Avoid sending emails that are of a
derogatory, damaging, or private nature. This is a group and archived
listserv. Comments made will be widely read and preserved.
- Respond to sender – The default setting for this email listserv is to reply
to the group. Replies of interest to only the sender should be directed to
that sender’s email instead of the entire group.
- Department of Libraries & Information Services – Some questions are more
quickly and accurately answered by contacting the Department of Libraries & Information Services (773-553-6210) and your area librarian directly.
Announcements and information about upcoming events will be emailed to you from
the DLIS.
