Commentary:
The sculpture depicts a scene from a Nigerian folk tale in which
the hero is trying to take possession of a mirror. It, along with
"Watching People" in Harper Court, was the winner of
a contest sponsored by the Hyde Park Chamber of Commerce. When
it first appeared it was colorful and energetic. Unfortunately
the tiles were poorly constructed for outdoor display and quickly
began to fade and chip. Now it shows only a hint of the qualities
that made it a prize winner.
