The Brazil Building was considered the most beautiful
of the state buildings. It was done in the French Renaissance
style that was very popular in America from 1850 to 1880. The
style fell out of fashion because cities were so polluted that
the detailed carvings would gather soot. Inside the Brazil Building
one could see a great display of Brazilian coffee.
