The Midway stretched west from the fairgrounds
for one mile. Much like today's amusement parks, it had rides,
entertainers, and food. In addition, there were many exhibits
that replicated foreign cities. Visitors to the fair could drink
coffee and listen
to an orchestra in an outdoor cafe in Vienna, Austria or ride
a camel through the streets of Cairo, Egypt.
