Technology Conference for Educators

eCUIP project staff will be presenting at the
Illinois
Technology Conference for Educators this Thursday,
February 27, 2003 at 10:45 am in room Turquoise B.
The eCUIP presentation will focus on our newest resources, including
Cultural Astronomy: Bringing the Heavens to Earth (launched
December of 2002) and The Worlds Columbian Exposition, the Chicago
World Fair of 1893 (to be launched February of 2003).
Cultural Astronomy is the most recent addition to the Science Collection
and focuses on the ways in which various cultures have used astronomy
to improve their daily lives. The resource is designed for 3rd through
8th grade use.
The Worlds Columbian Exposition is the most recent addition to
the Social Studies and Chicago Collections and includes an interactive
map of the fairgrounds and a lecture given by Neil Harris, a professor
at the University of Chicago and Worlds Fair expert. The resource
is designed for high school use.
The Illinois Technology Conference will take place Thursday and Friday,
February 27 28, at the Pheasant Run Conference and Resort Center
in St. Charles, Illinois. Illinois
Computing Educators sponsor the conference. On-site
registration is still available.
