A Time to Unite

Artist: Calvin Jones, Justine DeVan, Mitchell Caton and Tony Campbell

Commissioned by: National Endowment for the Arts and Others

Location: 41st Street and Drexel

Medium: Mural

Commentary: This work, a very powerful one, shows African American people in carrying out a great range of activities and states that now is the time for them all to unite.
The mural was made as part of the 1976 bicentennial celebration of the Declaration of Independence. Perhaps the artists meant it as a call for black Independence.
