Commentary:
Don't feel bad if you laugh at this. Underneath that concrete
is a real 1957 Cadillac, with big tailfins, shiny and a show-offy
interior. It probably used to get about 8 miles per gallon of
gas.
By covering it with concrete, but keeping the basic shape of
a car, Wolf Vostell seems to want us to recognize the foolishness
of that kind of display and consumption and that our wonderful
wealth and power may someday be buried by our excesses. He is
a social critic with a sense of humor.
