Title: Diarchy

Artist: Kenneth Armitage

Commissioned by: Mr. & Mrs. Dino J. D'Angelo

Location: 1111 E. 60th Street--Law School

Medium: Bronze

Commentary: Monarchy is the rule of a country by one person. From its name we gather that this piece represents rule by two. Who are the two? Two kings? Two Queens? Does it matter? You have probably seen Egyptian art in your classes, but for this one it might be more helpful to take a look at the flat faced figures from ancient Cyprus.
