Title: Dialogo

Artist: Virginio Ferrari

Commissioned by: Gift of Albert Pick, Jr. and the Polk Brothers Family

Location: 5825 S. University, University of Chicago Department of International Studies

Medium: Bronze

Commentary: These simple forms suggest a graceful movement, like a dance. Since the name, "Dialogo", means dialogue and since the work stands near the center of a great university, perhaps it is the dance of thought rather than bodies that is meant. If so, you might note the comparison with "Lessing" which stands near the DuSable museum. It is undoubtedly supposed to portray a man in thought, but how differently. How do you like the classical realism of "Lessing" compared with the suggesstive modernism of "Dialogo."
