Commentary: According to the artist,"This sculpture
celebrates man's struggle with spiritual forces in achieving spiritual
maturity." If you look carefully you will see that Jacob
and the Angel are just one person--with both animal and human
characteristics. Many artists and writers have dealt with the
human problem of overcoming our animal nature. The question is:
