The Wild East show on the Midway featured Arabian
horses and swordsmen. This photo shows the manager of the Wild
East show with his wife and child. The manager wad Kahlil Sarkees,
editor of Lee Sam el Hal, a Syrian newspaper. The child was born
in Chicago and christened "Chicago Columbus." The show
was a financial disaster; the Bedouins suffered for lack of food
and other supplies. They sold their horses for enough money to
return home.
